On December 11, 2024, the โ€œVAW Bigyang-Wakas, Ngayon na ang Orasโ€ campaign was successfully conducted to raise awareness and promote action against violence against women and children (VAW). The event was facilitated by the designated Gender and Development (GAD) focal person Lea Liberty A. Wangag, with TESDA staff and personnel support.

The program began with a warm welcome message from TESDA-PO Kalinga Acting Provincial Director Proserphina P. Pacyado, who emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address societal issues like VAW.

Two keynote speakers improved the event. Atty. Johnny D. Wayet, a professor at Kalinga State University (KSU), talked about the legal and social issues related to violence against women (VAW). PLTCOL Medie G. Lapangan Jr. from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Kalinga Police Office shared practical insights on how law enforcement protects women and children. Both speakers called for collective action to end violence and empower communities.

The participants and trainees (Driving NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, English Language Proficiency, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, and Trainerโ€™s Methodology Level I) were encouraged to become advocates in their communities. The campaign emphasized the importance of breaking the silence surrounding abuse and promoting vigilance, compassion, and awareness.

This initiative reinforced the commitment of TESDA-CSITE Kalinga Campus, in partnership with key stakeholders, to create a safer society for all. Ending VAW is not just a goal; it is a shared responsibility. Together, let us act now. Ngayon na ang oras!
