
The first-quarter meeting of the Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTEC), organized by TESDA Benguet was held on March 7, 2025, at the Sr. Citizen Building in Loacan, Itogon. The event gathered PTC Benguet, CTECs of Baguio and Benguet to discuss skills training, employment initiatives, and upcoming programs aimed at improving the employability of local communities.




In her opening remarks, Arlene L. Cadalig, Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Benguet, highlighted the need for strategic planning in skills training to enhance the employability of various sectors, with TESDA offering full support for local training and livelihood initiatives.

Charity Magallis, Community-Based Training (CBT) Focal, provided updates on the 2024 accomplishments and upcoming training activities for 2025. She also shared insights from the Regional CTEC Calibration and CPDS IV Orientation conducted last February 12 by the TESDA CAR Regional Office.

Each CTEC representative presented their proposed 2025 training programs, which were crafted based on their Training Needs Analysis (TNA). These programs mainly target groups, such as solo parents, womenโs associations, youths, PWDs, OSY, 4Ps beneficiaries, and PDLs.




Julie Tabcao of CTEC Benguet discussed the Adivay Skills Competition, noting that LGU Benguet will provide funding for each municipality to support the skills to be used in the competition. Tabcao, together with the CTECs, decided that table-making would be the chosen skill. Each municipality will train participants, who will represent their respective municipalities in the Adivay Skills Competition.

Ferdinand B. Montaรฑez, Administrator of PTC Benguet, presented available scholarships for implementation in 2025.

Christine M. Oliquiano, Senior TESD Specialist, also shared details on available scholarships by the Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (CSITE), as well as available competency assessment under Competency Assessment for Certified Workers (CACW) by TESDA Accredited Assessment Centers in Benguet.


Arlene Lamsis, CTEC of Bokod and CTEC President, presided over the entire meeting, led discussions on the CTEC Constitution and By-laws.

The meeting was a productive gathering, reinforcing the collective commitment to improving training and employment opportunities for the people of Benguet.
