Last February 27, 2025, the Provincial Training Center Benguet (PTC Benguet) was invited to the career guidance session for the graduating Grade 12 students of Gov. Bado Dangwa Agro-Industrial School (GBDAIS). The session aimed to provide essential insights about future career opportunities and pathways available to students across various academic strands, including Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL).

Arnel D. Ingosan, Senior TESD Specialist of PTC Benguet, was one of the key speakers during the event. His discussion focused on educating the students about the role of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the opportunities it offers, and the various skills training and qualifications available at PTC Benguet.

Likewise, Ingosan emphasized the scholarship programs that TESDA offers to students. He highlighted that students can benefit from these scholarships and avail of various programs at PTC Benguet. The training center provides training in several high-demand fields, such as Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Masonry NC I, Masonry NC II, Carpentry NC II, Driving NC II, and Motorcycle Driving Level II.

Another important topic discussed was the National Certificate (NC), where he explained the meaning of NC and its significance in the professional world. These certifications help validate a person’s qualifications and ensure they meet industry standards because NC represents a certain level of proficiency in a specific trade or skill.

To inspire the students, he also shared success stories of past PTC Benguet graduates. He highlighted the achievements of graduates, stating โ€œMay mga graduate ng Masonry na employed na sa Japan bilang construction workers.โ€ This demonstrates the real-world value of the skills learned at TESDA and PTC Benguet, with the vast opportunities available for those who complete the programs.

The career guidance session at GBDAIS served as an eye-opener for the Grade 12 students, particularly those in the TVL strand, by showcasing the value of skills-based education. With the insights provided by Ingosan, students now have a clearer understanding of how they can utilize TESDA programs to achieve their career goals and successfully enter various industries.
