On March 3, 2025, the Provincial Training Center Benguet (PTC Benguet) actively participated in the Womenโs Month Kick-off Motorcade in Kapangan, Benguet. This event, organized by the Local Government Unit of Kapangan (LGU Kapangan), also celebrated Fire Prevention Month, Anti-Rabies Awareness Month, and World Obesity Day. It aimed to educate the public on important health, safety, and equality concerns through a motorcade and an Information and Education Campaign (IEC).
The program started with a flag-raising ceremony and an IEC that highlighted the key messages of the event wherein participants gathered at the Municipal Gym in Lomon, Paykek, Kapangan. It was then followed by a motorcade from Barangay Datakan to Barangay Beleng-Belis, where different government agencies, community leaders, and volunteers took part in a public display of support for the various advocacies.
The kick-off event was focused on raising awareness of the Womenโs Month Celebration, which advocates gender equality and inclusivity, ensuring that all individualsโregardless of gender, ability, or social statusโare given equal rights and opportunities.
It was also a multi-advocacy event where different key areas were celebrated, such as Fire Prevention Month, which emphasized the importance of fire safety, proper handling of electrical equipment, and emergency preparedness to prevent fire-related incidents. Another was the Anti-Rabies Awareness Month, which educated the community on the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need for rabies vaccinations. And lastly, the World Obesity Day which encouraged people to adopt a healthier lifestyle to prevent obesity-related diseases.
PTC Benguetโs participation in this event reflects its dedication not only to technical education and skills development but also to supporting initiatives that promote safety, health, and equality. By joining the motorcade and IEC, PTC Benguet reaffirmed its commitment to empowering individuals and fostering a more informed and inclusive society.
With active collaboration among government agencies, schools, and local organizations, events like these continue to bring positive change and encourage communities to work together for a safer, healthier, and more equal future.
