On January 14, 2025, the Provincial Training Center (PTC) Benguet celebrated the start of a promising partnership with the Mankayan Local Government Unit (LGU), Itogon-Suyoc Resources, Inc. (ISRI), Lepanto Consolidated Company, and Lepanto Elementary School through the successful kick-start of Masonry NC I, a training program of PTC Benguet, in Lepanto, Mankayan.

This event, spearheaded by Center Administrator Ferdinand Montañez and TESDS II Krisyl Quiriones, highlighted the collaborative efforts to provide technical training opportunities to the community. Registration of the trainees was then facilitated by Technical Assistant Audrey Magallis, ensuring seamless onboarding of trainees. The program was organized by Joy Dom-ogen, Community Training and Employment Coordinator (CTEC) of Mankayan.

The event underscored the shared commitment to community development through impactful messages from key stakeholders. Mankayan Mayor Representative Saturnino Paciteng conveyed the gratitude of Mayor Dario Banario to PTC Benguet and its partners for their unwavering dedication to uplifting the local community.

Mr. Rolando Ursua and Engr. Robert Wagtingan from Lepanto Consolidated Company emphasized that the initiative is aligned with the Mining Act, which prioritizes training and development of local communities to ensure sustainable growth.

Adding to the shared commitment to community development, Nathalie Lagan, Principal of Lepanto Elementary School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to PTC Benguet and the entire partnership for choosing their school as the training venue, highlighting the significant and positive impact this program will bring to their institution.

This strengthened partnership demonstrates how collaboration between government agencies, LGUs, private companies, and educational institutions can create new opportunities for skills development and employment. The Masonry NC I program will equip locals with technical expertise and foster inclusivity in the community, paving the way for brighter futures through education, training, and collaboration.
