San Isidro, Abra — In celebration of Elderly Month, TESDA Abra, led by Acting Provincial Director Belmar G. Angoling, represented by Administrative Officer V Maricon F. Taclao-an and Job Order employee Clark Darwin Magannon, actively participated in the festivities held on October 12, 2024, at the San Isidro Municipal Gymnasium. TESDA Abra provided free manicure, pedicure, and body massage services to local senior citizens, serving a total of 46 beneficiaries.
A total of 698 senior citizens benefited from services offered by various agencies. Red Cross Abra Chapter provided free meals through its food truck, Abra 2nd PMFC offered free haircuts and organized parlor games with prizes, Rural Health Unit (RHU) conducted free medical check-ups, and Baculi Optical Clinic, owned by Dr. Ma. Lourdes Baculi-Ganado of the Philippine Association of Ophthalmologists, Inc., gave free eye check-ups and eyeglasses.
Mayor Elmerante M. Pacsa delivered an inspiring message to the senior citizens, reflecting his connection and care for his constituents.
The event also featured dance performances by senior citizens from each barangay, showcasing their joy and appreciation for the celebration. The activities made the event successful, fostering community and support for the elderly.
