Last October 7, 2025, the TESDA Provincial Office of Benguet (TESDA Benguet) and the Provincial Training Center โ Benguet (PTC Benguet), in partnership with the Local Municipality of Atok, officially conducted a Training Induction Program (TIP) for the Masonry NC I qualification at Barangay Naguey, Atok, Benguet.
The activity formally opened with welcome remarks from Barangay Kagawad Junjun Esnara, followed by the Orientation Proper led by Christine Oliquiano, Supervising TESD Specialist of TESDA Benguet. 25 scholars under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) officially commenced their training, which will conclude on October 28, 2025.
Most trainees were out-of-school youth who were eager to learn and build a future in the construction field. Other attendees were senior citizens, women, and members of the Indigenous Peoples community.
Ferdinand Montaรฑez, Center Administrator of PTC Benguet, and Arlene Cadalig, Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Benguet, encouraged trainees and highlighted the importance of skills training for local development and livelihood. Linda Binay-an, CTEC Coordinator of Atok, closed the event by thanking TESDA for its unending support to Benguet communities.
The conducted TIP is a key component of TESDA training, orienting participants on policies, safety, and assessment procedures. For this batch, it outlined the skills and competencies required for careers in masonry.
This training supports TESDAโs mission to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds, especially youth preparing to join the workforce. Through such initiatives, TESDA reinforces its commitment to skills development, employment readiness, and community progress in Benguet.
