87 Junior and Senior High School Teachers from the Department of Education (DepEd) participated in a 33-day Trainer’s Methodology Level I (TM I) training program. The participants from the different provinces of the Cordillera region were trained under TM Expert and Assistant Professor I Romeo G. Mongalini of TESDA-Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (TESDA-CSITE).

The training commenced on July 1, 2024, and concluded on August 2, 2024, at Quirino Hall, Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City.

The participants have successfully completed all the program requirements, qualifying them as candidates for graduation. They were presented by the CSITE Administrator, Felixberto B. Matute, Jr. and were confirmed by the Executive Director Daisy C. Bungallon of the CSITE Executive Office.

“𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘌𝘚𝘋𝘈 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴,” Matute stated in his message.

Meanwhile, ED Bungallon in her speech shared the initiative of Sec Suharto T Mangudadatu, PhD on strengthening Senior High School through Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). DepEd and TESDA has been working on a pilot implementation and training the DepEd Teachers by TESDA. A Joint Memorandum Circular is in progress. President BBM categorically has directions on this during his SONA. This will involve DepEd, CHED, TESDA, DOLE. This initiative will ensure that SHS graduates will be work ready after graduation.

The graduates will undergo the national assessment on August 10, 2024 to October 2024, in their respective provinces.

It is expected that after this training, the participants will apply the learnings they have acquired from the training in their respective work stations in attaining DepEd’s “𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢, 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢.”
