Sagada, Mountain Province โ The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)โMountain Province continues to support the creative sector by promoting innovation and enterprise in handloom weaving, one of the provinceโs long-practiced and valued crafts.
TESDA officials, headed by Provincial Director Felixberto B. Matute, Jr., visited Rose Annโs Fabric Gallery in Sagada on October 21, 2025, to highlight how local weavers are keeping the tradition alive while exploring new designs and business opportunities. The visit formed part of the agencyโs effort to link technical training with creative industries that sustain local livelihoods.

Through the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) program, Rose Annโs Loom Art Gallery, the training arm of Rose Annโs Fabric, offers Handloom Weaving (Upright) NC II to trainees who wish to gain both skills and real production experience.

Rose Ann B. Wangdali, owner of Rose Ann’s Fabric Gallery, shared in an interview that weaving has grown beyond tradition, becoming a source of creativity, innovation, and sustainable income. With the help of TESDA programs and support provided by other line agencies, more weavers have been able to improve their craft and bring local products not only to the national market, but also to the international market.
The woven pieces from Rose Annโs Fabric Gallery have already reached fashion shows and trade fairs both within and outside the country, showcasing the talent and creativity of Mountain Province artisans.

TESDAโMountain Province continues to assist local enterprises and creative workers through programs that encourage innovation while preserving the cultural identity of weaving communities.
