November 13, 2023, Baguio City | Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Benguet Provincial Office graces the Opening program in the Community-based training on Hilot (Wellness Massage) at Lourdes Proper, Baguio City, together with the City Government of Baguio and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Lourdes Proper.
The opening program starts with opening remarks from the Punong Barangay, Ms. Rowena S. Gelisanga. The messages from the PESO Designate, Ms. Romelda Frances M. Escano, and the CTEC Designate, Ms. Jannah Mae Elitan, followed. Quoted from Ms. Excano, “It is better to share than to keep it all yourself” implying the importance of sharing and showcasing skills to others.
Mr. Irvin Mabli, representing Acting Provincial Director Arlene L. Cadalig, conveyed her message by encouraging the participants to continue learning even after the training. He inspires the group to aim for certification in Hilot as established professionals and even master all the competencies to have certification in Massage Therapy.
Mr. Arnel Parocha, the trainer for the skills training, cites previous experiences from training other barangays and highlights the importance of having an additional skill set for personal growth.
The training aims for the establishment of a group of Hilot professionals serving Barangay Lourdes Proper and neighboring barangays.
