The Municipal Technical Education and Skills Development Committee convened on February 18, 2025, at the Municipality of Tuba SB Hall to discuss key initiatives aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities in the community. The meeting was chaired by Hon. Beauregard Arthur P. Palispis and attended by representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), Budget Office, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and TESDA-Benguet Acting Provincial Director Arlene L. Cadalig.

One of the main topics discussed was the allocated budget for the Livelihood Program and how it could be best utilized to benefit local residents. During the meeting, APD Cadalig was asked about possible training programs that TESDA could offer to help improve skills and create employment opportunities within the municipality. In response, APD Cadalig encouraged the committee to push for the establishment of the LGU-run training center which could offer more scholarship programs. She emphasized TESDAโs commitment to assisting the LGUs in every possible way to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives. She also discussed offering Bread and Pastry Making training, which would include cookies, bread, and cakes, as well as Meat Processing training focused on longganisa, tapa, and tocino through the Community Based Training (CBT) Program. These courses will equip residents with valuable skills that could lead to self-employment or job opportunities in the food industry.

The meeting concluded with a positive outlook on future collaborations between the local government and TESDA, reinforcing the importance of skills development in fostering economic growth and providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for the community.
