Baguio City (August 13, 2025) โ€“ The 2nd Quarter Community Training and Employment Coordinator (CTEC) Meeting was successfully held on August 13, 2025, at the Newtown Plaza Hotel, Baguio City, to strengthen community-based training and employment programs. The event, hosted by CTEC-Baguio under PESO-Baguio, carried the theme โ€œHosting the Capacity Building Activities of Community Training and Employmentโ€ and brought together TESDA-Benguet officials and CTEC representatives from various LGUs of Benguet.

Jannah Elitan of CTEC-Baguio warmly welcomed the participants and commended their dedication to ensuring the successful conduct of the meeting. The gathering served as a vital platform to present updates on ongoing and completed training programs for the second quarter of 2025, fostering stronger coordination and reinforcing shared goals among the different LGUs.

TESDA-Benguet Provincial Director Arlene L. Cadalig expressed her gratitude to CTEC representatives for their steadfast efforts in implementing community-based training programs. She encouraged LGUs to sustain and expand their initiatives, highlighting the importance of skills development in uplifting local livelihoods.

Likewise, Senior TESD Specialist Romar Agpes provided an overview of the process for availing TESDA-Benguet scholarships and available programs, while PTC-Benguet Administrator Ferdinand Montaรฑez shared their scholarship offerings and expressed the centerโ€™s readiness to open more training opportunities for aspiring beneficiaries. Julie Tabcao of CTEC-PLGU also reported on the ongoing Upskill Training on Table Making, a preparatory activity for the upcoming Adivay Skills Competition.

The formal meeting was presided over by CTEC President Arlene Lamsis, with CBT Focal Charity Magallis, presenting the accomplishments of each LGU and the trainings conducted during the quarter. These presentations not only showcased the breadth of training programs in Benguet but also reinforced the value of collaboration among LGUs and TESDA partners. These presentations showed the variety of programs in the province and highlighted the importance of collaboration among towns, cities, and TESDA partners.

Following the meeting, CTEC members conducted benchmarking activities in key locations around Baguio City. They visited the Baguio City Command Center at the Baguio Convention Center, which demonstrated the cityโ€™s advancements in public safety and smart city technologies, and the Baguio Youth Innovation Hub, a facility that highlights TESDAโ€™s ongoing partnership with youth-focused organizations.

The 2nd CTEC Quarterly Meeting reaffirmed the shared mission of TESDA, PESO, and LGUs to deliver quality skills training, enhance employability, and promote sustainable community development. By bringing together dedicated stakeholders and fostering open exchange. The event underscored the collective effort to empower individuals and strengthen the economic resilience of communities across Benguet.
