TESDA-Mountain Province Acting Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic alongside members from various government line agencies and private sector, attended the monthly Provincial Local School Board (PLSB) meeting on July 24, 2024 at Sac-angan, Bontoc, Mt. Province. The meeting aims to discuss educational initiatives, issues and concerns and strategies to enhance the quality of education in the province.

APD Pinic informed the body of the updates in the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) of the province including the embedment of TVET in the Senior High School Curriculum highlighting the Assessment and Certification Support Program, which intends to assess technical and vocational skills of SHS students under the TVL track for the issuance of National Certificate (NC). She emphasized the agency’s support in the training and assessment of Dep-Ed SHS teachers handling the TVL tracks to capacitate them with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver TVET courses effectively. In addition, she gave updates on the status of the Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC), wherein two participants from Mountain Province specifically from Tadian School of Arts and Trade (TSAT) will represent the region for Fashion Technology and Automotive Technology.

Meanwhile, updates from other sectors were imparted to the body. //WKMF//
