Bontoc, Mt. Province – Around 70 scholars from Northland Technical Institute, Inc. graduated on October 18, 2024, after completing technical training programs under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) funded through the Office of the Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr.
The graduates finished training programs in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCII and Driving NCII, gaining skills that enhance their employment opportunities as they enter the workforce for broader employment opportunities.
During the closing program, Acting Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic confirmed and awarded the training certificates to the graduates. In her speech, she commended the graduates for their hard work and perseverance. She highlighted the role of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in uplifting communities and empowering individuals to achieve sustainable livelihoods.
Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr., event’s guest speaker, delivered an inspirational message to the graduates. He emphasized the importance of vocational skills in national development. Likewise, he encouraged the graduates to use their skills for personal advancement and contribute to the growth of their communities and the country,
The event was attended by TESDA-CSITE Mountain Province Campus Administrator Benedicto A. Biato, TVI’s staff, along with the graduates families and guardians.
STEP is a scholarship program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communities and promotes employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities. //WKMF//
