Lagawe, Ifugao — CSITE Ifugao successfully concluded its two-part observance of Mental Health Month, effectively reinforcing the institution’s commitment to the HATAW: Healthy and Active TESDAn at Work mandate. The campus kicked off the celebration on October 13, 2025, with a vibrant Zumba Session after the flag raising ceremony. The main event, held on October 16, was the “Dugo mo, Buhay ko” Blood Donation Drive and Wellness Awareness Campaign, a crucial community effort organized in partnership with the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Lagawe and the Philippine Red Cross-Ifugao Chapter. This activity was spearheaded by CSITE Ifugao through the efforts of the school nurse, Ms. Noleen U. Pagadut.

The campaign proved to be a significant success, drawing diverse participation from CSITE personnel, TESDA Provincial Office staff, and trainees. Attendees were offered a comprehensive free health package, including blood typing (31 participants) and Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing (13 participants). Running simultaneously with the blood collection, a detailed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) program by RHU-Lagawe featured topics on critical Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Hypertension, Diabetes, and Arthritis, complemented by a session focusing on Emotional Intelligence for mental well-being, by Dr. Iza Layla L. Amorada and Ms. Sheena Belle P. Bayninan, respectively. Ultimately, the successful collaboration led to the collection of 15 units of donated blood, directly benefiting the community and strengthening the local health network.

Beyond the immediate health metrics, CSITE demonstrated institutional innovation by addressing logistical challenges creatively. The institution successfully used tokens crafted by Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) trainees as part of their Green TVET project to honor resource speakers, effectively showcasing student skills and resourcefulness. This initiative underscores CSITE Ifugao’s dual mission of skills development and social responsibility.
