Lagawe, Ifugao – The CSITE Ifugao Campus successfully completed a collaborative community service initiative, constructing and turning over a custom water tank stand to the SPED Center on October 1, 2025. The project was organized following a request letter from the SPED Center and was designed to serve a dual purpose: provide a tangible benefit to a local institution and offer a real-world practical output for the campus’s vocational trainees. This endeavor underscores CSITE’s commitment to integrating hands-on skills training with meaningful community engagement within the region.
The fabrication was executed by the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I trainees, with the entire process serving as their hands-on output under the direction of instructor Sir Gaspar P. Nawew Jr. This structure ensured the work met industry standards while offering the students invaluable experience. Resource contributions were clearly delineated: the SPED Center supplied all necessary materials and construction supplies, such as steel-flat bars and angle bars. The CSITE Ifugao Campus provided the skilled labor through the SMAW NC I trainees, the technical expertise of their supervising instructor, and the necessary fabrication venue and equipment for the duration of the project.

The activity formally culminated in the turnover of the finished water tank stand at the CSITE Ifugao Campus. The quality of the finished product was inspected and accepted by key representatives of the SPED Center, including Ms. Evelyn A. Manghi (SPED School Head), Ms. Esther H. Ogas (GPTA President), and Ms. Juliet B. Pugong (SPED kindergarten teacher). This final step not only delivered a significant functional asset to the SPED Center but also affirmed the practical competence and readiness of the graduating SMAW NC I trainees, solidifying the success of the collaborative community effort.
