TESDA Abra’s Acting Provincial Director, Belmar G. Angoling, accompanied by Supervising TESD Specialist Emilyn D. Sencio, Senior TESD Specialist Fred B. Baroña, and Administrative Officer V Maricon F. Taclaoan, paid a courtesy visit to Abra’s Local Chief Executive, Honorable Governor Dominic B. Valera, on May 22, 2024, at the Abra Provincial Capitol.

During the meeting, Director Angoling expressed his gratitude to Governor Valera for the steadfast support extended by the Provincial Government of Abra towards the various programs and initiatives of TESDA, particularly the implementation of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs benefiting the Abreños.

The discussion between Governor Valera and Director Angoling revolved around prospective collaborations and upcoming projects within the province. Director Angoling also discussed the TESDA sa Barangay program, a flagship initiative spearheaded by Director General Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D. This program aims to improve access to high-quality Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) programs, professionalize constituents at the barangay and local level, cultivate trainers and barangay workers, strengthen the collaboration with barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in the implementation of TESDA’s projects and programs, stimulate local economic development, establish community enterprises, advocate TVET devolution to Local Government Units (LGUs), and capacitate the LGUs for effective TVET delivery.
