Baguio City, May 1, 2025 – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Cordillera Administrative Region (TESDA-CAR) actively joined the 2025 Labor Day Job Fair, the biggest job fair in the Cordillera region. The event was held at SM City Baguio and the Baguio Cultural and Convention Center, led by the Department of Labor and Employment – CAR (DOLE-CAR). It offered more than 2,000 job vacancies both locally and abroad, with around 40 employers and agencies hiring on the spot.

TESDA-CAR officials joined the opening ceremonies in both venues. Regional Director Balmyrson M. Valdez joined the ribbon cutting at SM City Baguio, while Arlene L. Cadalig, Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Benguet, attended the event at the Convention Center. Likewise, a live broadcast of the national Labor Day celebration was also shown in both locations.

At the Convention Center, TESDA-CAR and TESDA Benguet staff manned an Information Desk, assisting 90 clients who asked about scholarships, training programs, and other TESDA programs and services. Simultaneously at the TESDA Baguio Satellite Office, TESDA distributed starter toolkits to 66 graduates—16 from Construction Painting NC II and 50 from Driving NC II. The agency also gave out ₱1.36 million Training Support Fund (TSF) allowances to 166 scholars from various qualifications/training.

The job fair was successful, with 68 applicants hired on the spot (HOTS). Many jobseekers also got help from other government agencies at the one-stop shop set up at the venue.

With many job opportunities and services in one place, the event made it easier for jobseekers to find work and get government help.

TESDA-CAR’s participation in the Labor Day Job Fair shows its strong commitment to helping people gain skills, find jobs, and build better lives. The agency continues to support workers and learners across the Cordillera region.
