Baguio City, January 15, 2025 — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Cordillera Administrative Region (TESDA-CAR) formally handed over the regional chairmanship of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict – Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (NTF-ELCAC-PRLEC) to the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office CAR (DA-RFO-CAR) in a turnover ceremony held at the Old Conference Hall of DA-RFO-CAR, Guisad Road, Baguio City.

The event highlighted the transition of leadership aimed at fostering poverty reduction, sustainable livelihood, and employment initiatives in the region. TESDA-CAR will remain Co-Vice Chair alongside the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to continue supporting the cluster’s programs.

Key attendees included Aldrin R. Baldonado and Camille Keven Adel from the DA-Central Office, TESDA-CAR Assistant Regional Director Glenn N. Murphy, and top officials of DA-RFO-CAR, including Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan, Regional Technical Director for Operations Dr. Danilo P. Daguio, Field Operations Division Chief Beverly T. Pekas, and PMED Chief Susan Balanza.

In his message, ARD Murphy expressed TESDA’s gratitude for leading the cluster and reaffirmed the agency’s continued support. “Together, we will provide full support to the DA as they lead initiatives to strengthen the connection between poverty reduction, livelihood, and employment,” he mentioned.

The ceremonial turnover of documents signified the official transfer of leadership to DA-RFO-CAR. In her acceptance speech, Dawayan highlighted the critical link between development and peace. “The road to peace is always development,” she said.

The DA-RFO-CAR also presented the cluster’s accomplishments and outlined ways forward for the coming years. Baldonado concluded the program with an inspirational message, urging all stakeholders to remain united in promoting peace and development across the Cordillera region.

The turnover ceremony underscored the ongoing commitment of all agencies to work together toward uplifting communities across the Cordillera region through sustainable and inclusive programs.
