TESDA-CSITE Mountain Province Campus recently conducted an onboarding session for newly-promoted and recently-hired personnel to ensure a smooth transition into their roles. The activity aimed to equip new team members with essential institutional knowledge, procedural guidelines, and administrative expectations, while also fostering a shared understanding of TESDA’s mandate and organizational values.

Three key resource speakers led the session: Ms. Mary Ann L. Gaylican provided an overview of TESDA’s history, structure, and Learning and Development guidelines; Ms. Brenda Hiano discussed the agency’s performance management system, including OPCR and IPCR; and Ms. Hariette Baybay facilitated a practical orientation on administrative forms and procedures. Participants actively engaged in the discussions, contributing to a productive learning experience.

While the session was informative, two challenges were identified: limited time for in-depth discussions on certain topics and the absence of printed handouts to support information retention. To improve future onboarding activities, it is recommended to extend the duration of the sessions and provide reference materials, either printed or digital, for easier follow-up.

This onboarding session successfully laid the foundation for new employees to integrate effectively into TESDA, and with these recommendations, future activities will further enhance the process of employee onboarding and development.
