On July 30-31, 2025, the TESDA-CSITE Mountain Province Campus conducted a two-day review and enhancement activity for the Competency-based Curricula of Masonry NC II, SMAW NC II, and OAP NC II. This initiative was driven by the need to update these programs in line with current industry demands and emerging trends, including 21st Century Skills, the Green TVET framework, and Supervised Industry Learning (SIL).
The review focused on aligning the curricula with the latest Training Regulations and industry standards. Participants critically assessed the existing programs and proposed enhancements to address identified gaps, ensuring the integration of sustainability principles and practical work experience to better prepare learners for the workforce.
Despite inclement weather preventing the attendance of several invited experts, the activity was successful in fostering valuable discussions. To ensure greater participation in future events, a hybrid modality will be considered, enabling both in-person and virtual engagement.
The revisions aim to enhance the relevance and quality of TVET programs, ensuring that graduates are equipped with both technical skills and the adaptability needed for today’s dynamic job market.
