Sabangan, Mountain Province — June 30, 2025 — In line with the celebration of Philippine Arbor Day, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education, Mountain Province Campus (TESDA-CSITE MPC), spearheaded a tree-planting activity on June 30, 2025, at its adopted reforestation site in As-asinan, Upper Tambingan, Sabangan, Mountain Province.

Organized by TESDA-CSITE MPC, the event was held in partnership with the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Sabangan. The initiative was in compliance with Presidential Proclamation No. 643 and Republic Act No. 10176, which promote the observance of Arbor Day and the participation of communities in nationwide reforestation efforts.

A total of twenty-seven (27) participants, including trainers, staff, and students—composed of seventeen (17) males and ten (10) females—actively took part in planting pine seedlings along the slopes of As-asinan. This area serves as the campus’s designated conservation zone and plays a key role in regional ecological preservation and water resource protection.

“This initiative extends beyond mere tree planting; it represents our institutional commitment to environmental sustainability,” said a TESDA-CSITE MPC representative. CENRO-Sabangan also lauded the collaborative effort, recognizing it as a vital contribution to the national greening program and environmental awareness at the grassroots level.

This activity highlights TESDA-CSITE MPC’s continuous advocacy for environmental stewardship and sustainable development within the Cordillera region. By integrating community involvement with environmental responsibility, TESDA reaffirms its dedication to building greener, more resilient communities.
