On June 18, 2024, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a free assessment for 21 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates in Masonry NC I and NC II at the Provincial Training Center (PTC)-Apayao. These graduates had completed rigorous training from April 25 to May 16, 2024, under the Center’s Extension Program.
The assessment, spanning two days and consisting of demonstration and interview stages, tested the graduates’ specialized competencies including masonry work preparation, block laying for structures and concrete/masonry surface plastering. Successful demonstration of the required competencies will result in the awarding of National Certificate (NC) I and National Certificate II in Masonry, which will be delivered to the candidates’ respective email addresses within two days of assessment completion.
These trainees pursued masonry training with the goal of obtaining a National Certificate to enhance their prospects of securing employment abroad. Ms. Fidelia Y. Galvezo, the Center Administrator of PTC-Apayao, emphasized that this initiative is in line with the agency’s mission to advance education, foster employment opportunities, and combat poverty.
