The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has initiated a training program for fifteen (15) participants in Bread and Pastry Production NC II at the TESDA Provincial Training Center in Apayao, which commenced on July 16, 2024. This program is under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), aimed at enhancing the employability of individuals through specialized skill development. By focusing on bread and pastry production, this initiative not only equips participants with essential culinary skills but also addresses the growing demand for skilled workers in the food service industry.

The curriculum designed for this training program is comprehensive, covering various aspects of baking techniques, ingredient selection, and food safety standards. Participants engage in both theoretical lessons and practical applications, allowing them to develop a well-rounded understanding of the craft. The hands-on experience is particularly beneficial as it enables trainees to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing them for potential employment opportunities within local bakeries or catering businesses upon completion of their training.

Moreover, this initiative reflects TESDA’s commitment to promoting technical education as a viable pathway for economic growth and personal development. By investing in skill enhancement programs like this one, TESDA aims to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve self-sufficiency through gainful employment. As such, the ongoing Bread and Pastry Production NC II training serves not only as an educational endeavor but also as a catalyst for community development within Apayao province.
