Malama,Conner- April 17, 2024 the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through the Provincial Training Center (PTC)-Apayao provided a free assessment to nine (9) TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) graduates.

These graduates underwent training in Masonry NC I and NC II under the Extension Program of the Center. They were able to complete their two (2) rigid trainings from February 16 to March 22, 2024.

The assessment will run for two days composing two stages particularly demonstration and interview. The demonstration covers specialize competencies such as: prepare masonry works, lay brick/block for structure, plaster concrete/masonry surface and install pre-cast baluster and handrails.

All candidates who will successfully demonstrate the competence in all the units of competencies that comprised both qualifications, will receive a National Certificate (NC) I and National Certificate II in Masonry. These certificates will be handed/sent to their respective e-mail address at least within two (2) days after their assessment.

This batch of trainees applied for masonry trainings to get a National Certificate hoping to secure a position in the Philippine Army. “ Isu lang ti kayat me nga papanan agArmy” one of the trainees said.

According to Ms. Fidelia Y. Galvezo, Center Administrator of PTC-Apayao, this National Certificate gives a huge impact to yApayao job seekers aiming to join the Philippine Army because it is now one of the basic requirements in applying. Further, she said that this is part of the mandate of the agency to boost education and employment while alleviating poverty.
