Baguio City — Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Benitez visited the TESDA–Cordillera Administrative Region (TESDA-CAR) Regional Office and met with regional staff, provincial directors, and TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs) Administrators on January 24, 2026.
Secretary Benitez was joined by Deputy Directors General Vidal D. Villanueva III, Nelly Nita N. Dillera, and Felizardo R. Colambo, Executive Director David B. Bungallon, and other officials from the TESDA Central Office.
During the visit, TESDA-CAR Acting Regional Director Glenn N. Murphy led the Central Office delegation on a tour of the regional office, followed by a short program. The program opened with the presentation of the TESDA-CAR manpower, providing an overview of the region’s workforce.
This was followed by the presentation of the TESDA-CAR office briefer, which highlighted the region’s programs, accomplishments, and key regional highlights for 2025. An open dialogue with Sec. Kiko then took place, allowing TESDA-CAR officials and staff to raise concerns, share insights, and discuss operational matters.
Messages were subsequently delivered by ARD Murphy and the Deputy Directors General. ARD Murphy expressed his gratitude to Sec. Kiko for visiting the Cordillera region and for the continued support of the TESDA Central Office, while the Deputy Directors General conveyed their messages of support and commitment to regional initiatives.
In his message, Sec. Kiko emphasized the importance of targeting workforce skills rather than just sectors, capacitating LGUs for workforce planning, and leveraging digital tools such as the upcoming Digital Skills Passport to ensure faster, data-driven, and industry-validated technical education and training.
