Lagawe, Ifugao – The Philippine Red Cross-Ifugao Chapter, in partnership with the TESDA-CSITE Ifugao Campus, successfully hosted a comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Caravan on August 18, 2025. The event, held at the 3rd floor of CSITE building, aimed to equip employees and trainees with the essential skills to respond effectively during cardiac emergencies.

The program commenced with welcome remarks delivered by the CSITE school administrator Engr. Eduardo O. Tamayao. The session was facilitated by Ms. Maureen Balangyo, together with her co-facilitators Ms. Josephine Dominong and Mr. Josua Managat.
Ms. Maureen provided a brief background about the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), presenting “Red Cross at a glance”. She highlighted the organization’s mission and various services, emphasizing its commitment to saving lives through preparedness and immediate response. She discussed key programs such as their blood donation services, disaster management and relief, and social services, which include providing assistance to those affected by disasters and crises.
She also introduced the PRC insurance program, explaining that it is a form of donation with accident assistance benefits. She detailed the different levels of membership, which provide coverage for accidental death, disablement, and hospitalization, as well as access to other Red Cross services in times of emergencies and sickness. Following this informative segment, a video presentation on cardiac emergencies was shown to strengthen the participants’ understanding of the subject before proceeding with the actual demonstration on the proper application of CPR techniques, facilitated by Mr. Josua Managat.

The session was actively attended by both CSITE employees and trainees, ensuring wider participation and engagement within the institution.
