Bontoc, Mt. Province – TESDA Mountain Province awarded starter toolkits to the 175 graduates of the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) scholarship program on March 15, 2024.

The beneficiaries were able to complete the training program in Driving NCII, Raise Organic Hogs, Raise Organic Small Ruminants, and Bread and Pastry Production NCII, which was implemented by Caliber Vocational Training Institute & Assessment Center, Inc., Salt and Pepper Agricultural Learning Center, Inc., and Khai Training Center, Inc. respectively.

This scholarship program funded through the Office of the Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr. is a result of his continuous commitment and support of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the province.

Acting Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic extended her gratitude to Cong. Dalog for his unwavering support and strengthened partnership in uplifting the lives of constituents through this scholarship allocation. She highlighted that the provision of these starter toolkits marks a significant milestone in the ongoing holistic efforts of the government to promote economic growth through self-employment and sustainability. Further, she recognized the efforts of every partner and stakeholders making this initiative possible.

Meanwhile, Ms. Wabilyn Leanne Lomong-oy, representing the Office of the Congressman expressed the Congressman’s appreciation to TESDA – Mt. Province and all partners for the never-ending collaboration and urged them to upkeep this endeavor to continue realizing the governments vision of providing quality technical education and skills development for the Filipino workforce and to provide opportunities to constituents to make them employable and productive. “We shall continue our role in the Office of the Congressman as an instrument to support every constituent of Mountain Province in our objective to improve lives through government programs like this”, Dalog added.

In attendance to witness this event were staff from the various Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs), the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and personnel from the Office of the Congressman. //WKMF//
