Traditionally, February 14 of the year is being celebrated as Valentine’s Day not only in the Philippines but all over the world.

This year, employees of the Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education – Main Campus celebrated the heart’s day by distributing flyers on “How to improve and maintain a healthy heart”. The main objective of the activity is to spread awareness to the public that the number one cause of death in the Philippines is heart related disease according to the Philippine Statistics Authority as of May 31, 2023.

Distribution of flyers started on February 14, 2024 and was trail-blazed by the ever supportive acting administrator, Felixberto B. Matute, Jr. He did not only distribute but also explained the importance of having a healthy heart. Distribution of flyers will be included in the Health Services regular program of the school nurse, Allan Muscara.

The employees have also designated a Freedom Wall, where all the institution’s stakeholders can write their thoughts, ideas and greetings. A huge Happy Heart’s Day greeting was also strategically placed that is visible to all individuals entering the campus.

With this activity, it is hoped that employees will give importance in taking care and maintaining a healthy heart so that chances of having heart illness will be lessened.

The activity ended with a simple gathering with snacks sponsored by the administrator.
